Description / Notes
This short presentation provides an overview of S.2096, state legislation introduced in 2023 in Massachusetts to catalyze carbon dioxide removal in the commonwealth through a state-administered procurement program.
The presentation was prepared for Massachusetts state legislators and their staff, and is meant to be delivered by OpenAir advocates within the context of citizen lobbying. It covers:
- The basic concepts and rationale for carbon dioxide removal, with a focus on the commonwealth’s specific climate targets and objectives, and CDR opportunities;
- The specific aspects of the legislation, and how they fit together.
