OpenAir is an action collective. Our existence, evolution and impact are entirely the product of the time, energy, connections, knowledge and skills that our members voluntarily contribute. Below are some needs that our different missions have at the moment. Are there any you can help with?

Read Me

OpenAir breaks down Help requests into 3 categories. Each involve different kinds of commitment and participation.

ROLES – Forms of help that involve ongoing participation in an OpenAir mission. This usually means joining a team to help lead or support a mission in achieving its goal. Filling a role can entail joining weekly meetups, and participating in activities related to that mission.

TASKS – Defined activities with a specific deliverable and a clear beginning and end. Examples of tasks include designing a brochure, calling a legislator, or building or testing a device.

ANSWERS – Requests for knowledge, insights and informed perspective related to a particular question that a mission needs to answer in order to succeed or progress.

The OpenAir community produces regular Youtube content (ex. our This is CDR weekly webinar series). We can always use help with simple editing to get new episodes ready for posting. We hope to recruit an active pool of members with editing know-how (Final Cut, Premiere, iMovie all good) to help crank these out. Contribute based on your schedule and availability! Share

We need CDR Disinformation first responders!

CDReality Check is OpenAir's mission to confront misinformation about carbon removal on social media and in other fora. Mission "responders" respectfully engage misinformation sources with science-based counters, making sure that false information does not go unchallenged in the public sphere. Developers Needed! Javascript, React, C++

OpenAir is developing a competitive platform to build community and accelerate the evolution of our DIY opensource carbon removal projects. In July we need volunteer help from developers with knowledge of Javascript, React, and C++ to spread the work, and accelerate completion of a beta version this summer. Share
