Due to the on going Covid-19 crisis, we had to rethink our approach to DACC HACCs. Our community is nothing if not resilient, so we pivoted our development process to remote hacking. Our new strategy:
Step 1: Build complete end-to-end instructions and list of materials for making an open hardware DACC
Step 2: Work with members around the world who either have home workshops or are in locations that aren’t locked down to have them attempt to build DACCs from the documents we’ve developed
Step 3: Get feedback from the builders and work iterate on our designs to improve our documentation, instructions, and materials
Step 4: Keep repeating this process until we have the world’s first open hardware DACC.
We’ve lined up some members and partners for step 2 and have assembled a great team of members to begin on step 1, so we are optimistic we’ll have our first build soon. Stay tuned here for update!
