On November 16th, OpenAir hosted our Action Seminar on Low-carbon Concrete and Local Government Leadership. This virtual forum guided local governments in New York State and beyond who are ready to lower the carbon footprint of the concrete they use.

In this segment, Hastings-on-Hudson’s mayor Nicola Armacost and climate action team members, including OpenAir Collector Ion Simonides, cover the progress made in their community since passing the Hastings Resolution which codified their town’s support for low-carbon concrete. The presentation provides an overview of the connection between concrete and climate change, and the unique role of local governments in driving the transition to low-embodied carbon solutions.

The program culminates in an invitation to participate in a new campaign focused on decarbonizing the most universal form of civic infrastructure: sidewalks and curbs. Watch to learn more!
